Just received my copy of World's Finest V1 and found out that there was an error on pg12. DC provided a sticker with the correction on the shrinkwrap and suggested that, if I wanted, I could paste it over the mistake. I'm not sure if I want to do that (partly because I am not confident of my sticking skills). What do most people do?

I put mine in there. I have no idea whether that was the right thing to do. I expect in 10 years there'll be a big brown glue stain on the back of the page.

One of the 10 commandments:

Thou shalt not put tape on thy comics.

I don't know about these stickers, but they're dangerously close to tape for me.

Well, I remember the big full-page sticker that came with All-Star Comics Archives 2 which must have been nearly a decade ago.

It was the story credits page that was intended for volume 1. I threw caution to the wind and stuck it in (a fairly delicate manoeuvre as you can imagine). It still looks fine - DC must have been using good quality glue back in the day.

You can just slip the correction into the book at the appropriate page. It'll be there when you read the book and won't mess up the page.

I used it as a bookmark and kept it tucked in the right page when I was done.

I store mine between the dust jacket and a plastic liner -- I'm always afraid I'll lose it.

Does anyone know if the second printing corrected this issue?

I think the mistake DC made was that in the WF #1 archive they used the same stats (or whatever they call it) for this story that were used in the World's Finest #179 (October 1968) reprint.
The only problem was, when the story was originally reprinted in 1968 the introductory blurb was rewritten to reflect the historical significance of the story.
Obviously, someone at DC only realized the mistake after the archive had gone to press, by which time it was too late.
Personally, I don't like to stick in erratum or table of contents sheets.

I've stuck in all my correction stickers that I've gotten over the years and so far--knock on wood--they all look fine. While these books might reprint collectable material, the archives themselves aren't collector's items, so i doubt their value will ever go up much like a comic does.

From what I understand, yes.

I think the error came from this story being printed in a Best of DC Digest several years back. The first reprinted story was Superboy meeting the young Bruce Wayne--and Bruce dons the "Flying Fox" identity to help Superboy. This story came second--so the splash page blurb was altered to something like, "Now you've seen how Superman and Batman met when they were boys--now see how they learned each other's secret idetities!"

Unless this reprint in the Digest form was just a reprint of the 1968 special or annual or whatever.
